An incredible journey!
The dramatic volcanic eruption of Vestmannaeyjar!
The eruption 1973 forced the entire population, of over 5000 people, to evacuate the island on a moment´s notice in the middle of the night. Many of them lost their homes and belongings, some never returned to Heimaey.
Interactive for everyone
This interactive, and very visual, exhibition tells this story in a way that makes it interesting and easy to understand.
